New York City!

A couple of days in New York city and it has been amazing! This fast paced city has so much history and some places even feel like you know them thanks to movies. At Christmas time the City is covered in lights and filled with people walking the streets till the early hours of the morning.

Once we got to our hotel we went out to find a place to eat. Around the corner is a place called Lomdardies. We ordered 2 massive pizza's!

The next day we walked down Broadway to do some shopping. I bought  some sweet new shoes and some Bose Headphone's. Unfortunately my phone fell out my pocket in a damn taxi so I will be getting another from insurance soon hopefully! We have made extensive use of the underground as one does in these cities. We had some brunch in a fantastic restaurant that was very much like or Woolworth's style. The Hot Chocolates were huge and yummy!

On one of the evenings we decided to go to watch The Lion King Show. It was phenomenal! The costume design amazing and the overall experience was fantastic I would recommend it to everyone! The show was situated in Times Square so we headed up there that evening. It was Christmas Eve. What a place ti be on Christmas Eve.

The next day was christmas! we headed down to Times Square and Central Park. We did some Ice Skating on the rink in central park on Christmas day. I also got to see Balto's Statue which was a tale I used to watch when I was a kid.

Today we headed on the Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and the Memorial site for the Twin Towers. It was quite cold as it snowed this morning. We had breakfast at a nice place that served hot chocolate with paw prints in them. We also managed to watch The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug in 3D at the IMAX it was super incredible!

Universal's Islands of Adventure

Day 5,

Another early start and we were off to conquer a few more rides and experiences at Universal's Islands of Adventure. Including the Despicable Me - Minion Mayhem, Harry Potter, The Hulk, The Rocket and the best simulation and visual experience I have ever had - Transformers: The Ride - 3D!!

On this very warm day we walked into the park and headed straight for the family's favorite book, Harry Potter. An entire section of the park was dedicated to the Harry Potter theme including Wand, Sweets, Owl, Potions, Pants and Clothes shops. This entire look a like street was really amazing! It was extremely detailed and gave a great feeling to the entire experience. We walked up onto the first ride we saw... The Dragon Challenge! This ride consisted of the identical roller coasters that go simultaneously around the track. At some stages your feet can touch the other peoples on the opposite roller coaster. All in all a great ride!

I was gonna post an awesome Go Pro Video of the ride but After Effects corrupted and deleted the video file... Flipping Pissed off!

After Harry Potter we went to do the Hulk! This great ride sends you flying upwards and flips you right at the top. It then has 7 inversions and a few more twists at high speed!

The Hulk was the best roller coaster I have been on :)

After this we walked down the Marvel street which had shops for all the different Marvel Heroes and Villans, Spiderman, Wolverine, Flash, Docter Doom, Iron Man you name it! Inside each was merchandise relating to all the characters. The Spiderman ride had a huge wait time so unfortunately we had to skip it and we headed off to the Universal Florida side of the park.

On the way there we stopped to look at the biggest Hard Rock Cafe and the NBA City for a picture.

We arrived at Universal Florida. We had about 4 hours left for us to do the rides we wanted. We headed straight over to the Despicable Me - Minion Mayhem! The ride was great and the visuals were awesome to look overall the experience was very good. The line time was quite long and half way through, the Parade started so we watched it and then moved on into the Ride.

We bought some minions and then went over to the MIB Alien attack interactive shooting game and then to Transformers! The boys went on The Rocket Roller Coaster and then we ended off with some pretty good Pizza :)
